South Central Electric was granted a $1,000,000 USDA Rural Economic Development Loan for the Crystal Valley Cooperative feed mill project in Trimont. The zero% interest loan will be used by Crystal Valley for feed mill equipment

Sitting down at her desk each morning, Bailey Schiefelbein doesn't always know what will be waiting for her, and she likes it that way. Her position as a Feed Administrative Specialist keeps her on her toes and allows her the opportunity to have no two days that are exactly alike.

We have been hearing a lot about African Swine Flu in the past few days. The USDA has recently announced the presence of ASF in the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean nation that shares its island with Haiti. Because it’s an island, the virus was transported by ship or plane.

Just after 8 am this morning, the construction crew began the continuous cement pour of the slip forms at the new feed mill in Trimont. Work will be non-stop with rotating shifts until the 160+ foot pour is complete.

On March 31st, a small groundbreaking event was held for the new Trimont Feed Mill.  In attendance were members from Crystal Valley's feed team, Crystal Valley board members, McCormick Construction, and Trimont City Council. 

The Feed Division is happy to announce our newest member of the team, Jodi More, Feed Division intern for the summer of 2021. Jodi grew up on a farm in the Mapleton, MN area and currently attends Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN.
