Job Seeker Resume Tips

If you are in the market for a new career, be sure you check out our tips in creating a successful resume. 

  1. Update old contact information and choose a professional email address
  2. Tailor resume to the role you are applying for – use keywords from the job description in your work experience
  3. Keep the design and layout simple – no fancy fonts or colored paper
  4. Do not include references, photos, irrelevant or false information
  5. Organize information into sections so it is easy to read and scan
  6. Be concise and minimalist – use bullet points and numbers to make it easier to read
  7. Keep your resume to one page if possible
  8. Spellcheck and proofread multiple times
  9. Save your resume as a PDF or word document – name the file YOURNAME_RESUME
  10. Ask a friend or colleague to proofread and give feedback
