On Wednesday, September 8th, Crystal Valley, South Central College, and Greater Mankato Growth celebrated the long-awaited ribbon cutting of the newly renovated Crystal Valley Agribusiness Lab at South Central College.
Crystal Valley donated $132,275 to South Central College's North Mankato Campus Foundation, which covered half of the lab's construction costs, with the other half paid for with bonding funding from the legislature in 2017 for SCC's North Mankato Renovation project.
"We at Crystal Valley are very proud to partner with South Central College and we support SCC in their efforts to train and educate the next generation of leaders in Southern MN and Northern IA. Not just in agriculture, but across many vocations as well. Hopefully, we can employ your top students and encourage them to stay in the area and build their families, careers, and lives close to home." - Roger Kienholz, Crystal Valley CEO shared during his speech at the ribbon cutting.
Each year, approximately 100 students are enrolled in South Central College's Agribusiness programs. They currently offer approximately 12 options ranging from associate degrees in Agribusiness Production to Farm Business Management.
